Luz Mena is a Cultural Geographer who works on race and gender issues in colonial relations, gendered configurations in political violence, the body as prime site of space production, and spatial constructions in music and dance. Her regional emphasis is Latin America with a focus in Cuba. She received her PhD from UC Berkeley in 2001.
